Our Eye Doctors

Eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.

Our optometrists take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.

Scott Palmer, O.D.

Although born in the city of Oceanside, New York, Dr. Scott Palmer still considers Iowa his home.  He moved to Northwest Iowa where he graduated from high school, as well as from Briar Cliff College with honors.  He then made the decision to attend Indiana University School of Optometry and graduated in 1993, again with honors.  All in the same year, he passed his boards, got married, and started practicing Optometry in the Estherville area. In 1997, he joined Dr. Hassebrock at the DeWitt Eyecare Clinic in DeWitt, IA.

Dr. Palmer and his family are an active part of the DeWitt community through their church and civic groups.  His favorite hobby is learning about, working with, and discussing cars.

“Most people are given the gift of two eyes, I consider it an honor and a privilege if they allow me to care for them and their eyes, so that together we can hopefully help them see for a lifetime .”  Scott Palmer, OD
